Modell is the oldest child of Leonard and Ruby Harris, born August 11, 1927 in Anaheim, Calif.  Modell graduated from High School in 1945 from Garden Grove.  She attended college and earned a degree to work as a Dental Hygienist.  She also worked as a Riveter during World War II with the Civil Services. 

 

In her younger years, Modell enjoyed singing and playing gospel music, painting, collecting postage stamps, souvenier spoons, and going to garage sales, most of which she still enjoys.

Model married James Ezra Boen in Shafter California in 1946.  They had one child, Shirley Dell Boen.

Modell enjoyed spending her time going to church and singing before meeting her Savior.
